Every year, the Canadian Labour Economics Forum (CLEF) runs a competition for the best paper written by a Canadian student or recent graduate. The aim of the competition is to recognize and support excellence in early career research and to connect with young labour economists.
Current students or recent graduates (within past two years) from a Canadian university, as well as Canadian students and recent graduates from foreign universities, are eligible to participate. Submissions must be unpublished. Papers may be written in English or French. Sole-authored papers and papers co-authored with another student or recent graduate (not a supervisor or senior economist) are eligible.
The 2026 Call for Submissions will be released in November 2025. Stay tuned.
